For me, today is a day of reflection. Regularly, we get caught up in our own lives and need times like now to decompress a little. I see my family happy for the chance to spend time together. I see my friends and fellow students embrace a couple days away from the library. And I see the community enjoy time away from the usual grind. These sights encourage me. In spite of injuries, working too many hours, looming finals, or whatever the current stress is, we take time to appreciate our lives and those around us. I hope you spend time today with those whom you love and reflect a little on how much good there is to be thankful for.
I’m thankful for all my friends and family. I’ve had a rough patch or two in my life and I don’t think I could’ve made it through without the love from all of you (goofballs included). I’m thankful for all the support that we’ve gotten for Mixed Concrete both last year and this year. Thanks to all the artists who helped us travel to Honduras this past March by putting art in the show. Thanks to Open Eye for hosting us last year and TRU Deli + Wine for this year. Thanks to all our friends, family, teachers, neighbors, and all the community members that came out and supported us last year. And special shout outs to Margarethe Williams, Caroline Orr, and Jeremy Bass for being such an awesome team and doing so much to help Emily and me. We all have a lot to be thankful for and even more to look forward to. Happy Thanksgiving!
