If you would like to join the 2018-2019 Mixed Concrete Team, please contact the Co-Director, Mary McCall Leland, at mmleland@live.unc.edu. The application is live until May 1, 2018.

Our roles and committees are:

Director of Mixed Concrete *must be a returning team member*

  • You will lead the entire team and spearhead the event. Please note this is a very time consuming role and you must be willing to pick up the slack of other committees.
    • Work with Carolina Creates
    • Work with professors at UNC
    • Work with the UNC Art Department
    • All committees will answer to you
    • Work very closely with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County

Assistant to the Director: 

  • You will be the right hand man/woman to the Director, and will basically have the same role.

Finance Committee

  • You will manage all finances including:
    • Sponsorships and grants
    • Work with Carolina Creates
    • Handle all payments after the show
    • Liaison with Habitat for Humanity to get the proceeds to them after the event

Student Art Committee

  • You will be in charge of soliciting student artists and getting at least 15 pieces of student art for the show
    • You will work closely with the Professional and Alumni Committee

Professional and Alumni Committee

  • You will be in charge of soliciting past professional and alumni artists who have donated as well as getting new artists to donate
    • You will work closely with the Professional and Alumni Committee

Media and Publicity Committee:

  • You will be in charge of the following:
    • All advertising for soliciting artists
    • All advertising publicizing the event
    • Any photography and videos before, during, and after the event
    • Connecting with local outlets such as the DTH to get Mixed Concrete featured
    • Making sure Mixed Concrete is publicized within the University, i.e. listservs, emails, etc.
    • Run all social media including the website
    • Make all advertising materials such as cover photos, banners, flyers, etc.
    • Update programs for the event
    • You must have WordPress knowledge to run our website
